The arrangements -- all a bit ponderous -- are by Charles, except for "Alone Together," which is by Mingus. The liner notes by Bill Coss include the claim that "just about one month before these tracks were cut, Miles had performed at the Newport Jazz Festival" -- but Davis' 1955 Newport "comeback" took place on July 17, more than a week after these tracks were cut.
